Argentina Wine

The past century has seen Argentina become one of the world's great wine countries . Mendoza province itself produces more than half of all Argentine wine and has become a leading tourist destination in its own right.
The most important wine regions of the country are located in the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan and La Rioja.Click to see the Map
French immigrants introduced Malbec, for which Argentina is best known, though it has a thriving wine industry which produces other great red varieties as well as Torrontes, a white wine which is steadily gaining followers.
As opposed to its neighbor to the west, Chile, which produces the large majority of its wine for export, Argentina wine is widely consumed within the country, especially when paired with the national dish of asado (beef on the grill).
